The violinist whose tecnique, electric violin and rocker look stunned the entire world is coming to Romania, in a premiere show. The most acclaimed and best sold violinist ever, Nigel Kennedy will perform at Sala Palatului in Bucharest on October 16, starting 8 p.m in a concept show gravitating around Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons”. The access is allowed as of 7 p.m.

The organizers from German Quality Entertainment are preparing the event for quite some time, dedicating it to all music lovers, from classic, jazz and rock.

The concert will comprise the “Seasons” by Antonio Vivaldi, this time performed in an unique manner by Kennedy next to an entire orchestra consisting in 30 musicians.

We are now, however, well into the 21st century so I want to present a new interpretation of the Four Seasons, which is relevant to the modern day,” Nigel Kennedy explains.

After the show in Bucharest, the great artist will perform a second live concert, this time in Cluj-Napoca on October 19, at 8 p.m., with the event organized by Diesel Events.

Everybody moves on artistically. So this is a presentation of everything I hear in the music and I think I’m well placed to do this because I’ve played The Four Seasons in front of so many audiences, possibly thousands of times. I really love this music and want to give it as much as I can. I hope that this new approach brings you a different and deeper enjoyment of this amazing music,” the violinist also said.

Tickets, ranging from RON 100, RON 150 to RON 250 and RON 350, are available through Eventim network: www.eventim.ro, Carturesti bookshops, Germanos and Vodafone stores.poster-Nigel-Kennedy-Bucuresti_ClujNapoca

For over twenty-five years, British violinist, Nigel Kennedy, has been acknowledged as one of the world’s leading virtuosos. His unique talent and mass appeal have brought fresh perspectives to both the classical and contemporary repertoire and he is the best-selling classical violinist of all time.

From a young age, as Yehudi Menuhin’s most famous protégé, he studied at the Menuhin School (where it emerged, following Menuhin’s death, that the legendary violinist had personally financed the young Kennedy throughout his education at the school) before moving to the Juilliard School of Music in New York to study under celebrated teacher, Dorothy DeLay.

During his career, Nigel Kennedy has undertaken countless international tours, performing with the world’s leading orchestras and conductors throughout Europe, North America, Central and South America, South East Asia and Australia.

Major debuts have included London’s Royal Festival Hall in 1977, the Berlin Philharmonic in 1980, his New York orchestral debut in 1987, France in 2004 and Russia in 2012.

Nigel Kennedy has attracted an enormous amount of worldwide media attention throughout an extraordinary career and his international television appearances have been wide and varied. He has given public and private performances for members of the British royal family and has also been presented with many awards including Outstanding Contribution to British Music and Male Artist of the Year at the UK Brit Awards; in France a Vivement Dimanche Gold Award, numerous Echo Awards; in the USA Grammy Awards; Bambi in Germany and Switzerland’s Gold Rose of Montreux.

In September 2002, Kennedy was appointed Artistic Director of the Polish Chamber Orchestra, a role the late Lord Menuhin once held. The violinist recently founded a new orchestra, made up of vibrant young (mainly Polish) musicians.

In March 2013, Sony released RECITAL. The album features the music of Fats Waller, Kennedy/JS Bach and repertoire which featured on his 2014 international tour. Another recording, released by Sony in early 2014, was Nigel Kennedy’s exhilarating “re-write” of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.
